I found this one in my photos. Not sure if I received it or if one of my friends sent it to me.
It came from phone number 09036946513 and it reads:
Hello I am UK government you need to pay £1500 Tunes gift card to me or you under the rest
It is clearly a scam. Firstly, the UK Government would not be asking for money to be sent to them via any type of gift cards. Secondly, the government would not be contacting you about any debt via SMS. Thirdly, the government would not be saying “under the rest”, if they felt that legal action was needed, they would either take you to court or send the police to your address and no amount of gift cards would prevent that. And finally, it’s just so blatantly obviously a scam.
